Bolgart

Bolgart is a townsite north of Toodyay in Western Australia. It is in the Shire of Victoria Plains.
The town derives its name from a nearby spring. The spring was discovered and the name recorded by explorer George Fletcher Moore in 1836. The townsite was gazetted in 1909.
This little farming town, about 20km north-east of Perth and 39km north of Toodyay, is the most southerly town in the big Victoria Plains Shire and the most northerly – and highest – in the lovely Avon Valley. Boggabri hosts the big Gum Tree Clay Pigeon Shoot over the October Labor Day Weekend.

In the ‘Golden Triangle’ of well-watered country, where the soil ranges from medium loam to heavy clay, there hasn’t been a drought out Bolgart way for years, which is just fine with the local farming community.
The main producers in the region are cereal growers and sheep farmers. It’s also wildflower country and an absolutely fabulous place to visit when they’re on show in July and August.
