Agnes Water is an increasingly popular tourist resort on the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is located in Miriam Vale Shire approximately 50 km east of the Bruce Highway, Queensland’s major coastal route. Agnes Water has the most northerly surfing beach on Australia’s east coast.
We are situated on the boundary of South East Queensland and Central Queensland in a sub tropical region. This makes for very pleasant conditions most of the year with temperatures usually no hotter than 30 degrees in the summer and around 23 degrees in the winter. Our rainfall is on average between 50-60 inches per year although we have not reached this for some time.
Agnes Water 1770 is a small but increasingly popular sea change and holiday destination. Population around 4,000 plus about 25,000 tourists over a year who are mainly flush young backpackers and gray nomads with a good dye job. Agnes Water 1770 is the northern most surfing beach in Queensland.
The area is surrounded by National Parks and some of the best beaches still require a 4 wheel drive to get to. The area promotes it’s self as the Discovery Coast and the birth place of Queensland because of it’s relationship with Captain James Cook in 1770. The beaches around Agnes Water have to be seen to be believed, from the small secluded coves and inlets to the broad expanse of Bustard Bay and the Agnes beach it’s self all with clean white sand and rocky headlands.
