Bingil Bay
Postcode: 4852
Bingil Bay is east of the Bruce Highway & north of Mission Beach. A camp ground & picnic area are located on the edge of the beach at Bingil Bay with some good land based fishing straight off the beach. To get to Bingil Bay turn east off the Bruce Highway at El Arish (between Tully & Innisfail). Take the El Arish – Mission Beach Road (Cassowary Drive) past Mount Edna to Mission Beach then take the road north past Clump Point to Bingil Bay.
Good land based fishing can be had at a few spots between Mission Beach & Bingil Bay. A reef runs around the headland & under the jetty at Clump Point & another reef runs right past the beach at Bingil Bay. Some of the best fishing can be had an hour either side of low tide. Flick lures & soft plastics or use fresh or live bait. Making a constant berley trail will help attract the fish to the area you are fishing.
Bingil Bay has long been regarded as the ultimate desirable Mission Beach location in which to reside, with prime property in Mission Beach very tightly held.
The future Bingil Bay, due to its topography & National Parks, should be insulated from the intensive unit style development that has marred many an idyllic beach retreat. The pristine world heritage wilderness and wildlife will continue to thrive ……..undisturbed.
Enjoy 14 kilometers of palm fringed sandy beaches along the Mission Beach coast.
Lazing just offshore from the Cassowary Coast are some 25 tropical islands, including the resort islands of Dunk and Bedarra. The islands offer idyllic isolation, to full resort activities and excitement. Accessing them is easy with cruise boats & water taxis servicing the most popular, or maybe …… charter a yacht and explore them in your own time.
