Loganholme
Postcode: 4129
About halfway between the centre of Brisbane and the heart of the Gold Coast, Loganholme borders the Logan River – the boundary between Queensland’s two largest cities.
As part of Logan City, Loganholme is in an area growing as quickly as any of Queensland’s boom regions. Its proximity to both Brisbane and the Gold Coast is an obvious influence driving its economic and population growth. The Logan Hyperdome complex is one of the larger shopping centres in Australia.
More than 3300ha of the Logan area is preserved in open space in a balanced mix of bushland reserves and environmental parks with attendant wetlands. Logan can boast one of the highest koala populations in the land and the Koala Centre in the Daisy Hill State Forest plays a vital role in caring for injured or orphaned animals, in public education and in conserving the creature’s natural environment.
Visitors can also study the native flora and fauna in such open space areas as the Boronia Bushland Reserve, Slacks Creek Environmental Park, which includes a boardwalk through melaleuca scrub, Springwood Environmental Park and its dedicated nature walk, and Underwood Park whose lagoon allows close encounters with the resident waterfowl.
