Prenzlau is a town situated in the Lockyer Valley at the southern end of Esk Shire in southeastern Queensland, Australia.
The area was settled by German immigrants from the Uckermark near Prenzlau in Brandenburg, Germany. The Prenzlau State School was opened in 1894. There was a post office in the town from 1894 to 1968.
Prenzlau State School is co-educational and has 33 children who were split into two multi-age classes, years P-3 and years 4-7. A teaching principal, classroom teacher, two teacher aides, an administrative assistant and a cleaner staff our school. The school offers a quality integrated program across the eight Key Learning Areas. A number of specialist teachers service the school including, Music, Physical Education, LOTE (German), Learning Support and Instrumental Music.
Prenzlau State School is situated in the foothills of the Minden range, five minutes north of the Warrego Highway at the southern end of the Esk Shire. Our school serves a stable community, many of whom commute to nearby towns and cities for work.
