Woodridge is also the scene of a huge flea market every Sunday, which includes a wide variety of new and used goods.

On September 3, 2004, the Indonesian Ambassador to Australia, Imron Cotan, was invited to present a speech on Indonesia’s Political, Economic and Social Prospects at the Indonesia Update 2004, convened by the Australia Education International and IDP Education in Brisbane. During his trip to Queensland, the Ambassador made a short visit to Woodridge State High School to meet the community of Indonesian students and teachers and the City Councillor to encourage the long-term benefits of studying Indonesian.

A recent study, an initiative of the Queensland Government stated that due to poor urban planning and certain troubling social issues, Woodridge is financially neglected by both State and Local Governments and an urban renewal scheme is currently being formulated to rectify these problems. Thus far, no action has been taken.
