Bauhinia Shire is in the process of establishing Heritage Walks for both Springsure and Rolleston. The Springsure Heritage Walk was opened on 29th August as part of the 2004 Bauhinia Shire Biennial Back to Springsure Festival.
Stage 1 covers 10 heritage sites in Springsure. These sites are identified by plaques and a brochure containing information is available. The Information Centre also houses photographs and further information on each site.
With over 12% of its area covered by National Parks, Bauhinia Shire has one of the highest percentages of National Parks of any Shire in Queensland.
From the popular Carnarvon Gorge, to the isolated peacefulness of Ka Ka Mundi or the easily accessible Minerva Hills (only 10 minutes from Springsure), we have National Parks to suit everyone’s taste.
