Boreen Point is situated on the shores of Lake Cootharaba, in the Noosa Shire, South East Queensland, Australia.
Boreen Point, with a population of about 200 permanent residents sits on the shores of Lake Cootharaba. Lake Cootharaba is about 10 kms long and 5 kms wide with an average depth of about 1.5 metres and is part of the Noosa River system and the Great Sandy Region.
To the North the Noosa River extends from it’s beginnings in the Cooloola catchment via the beautiful Cooloola Wetlands, a must for any tourists. To the South the river winds down to Lake Cooroibah and beyond, through Tewantin, Noosaville and to the bar at Noosa Heads.
Despite the small size of Boreen Point it has an amazing number of attractions like Cooloola Canoes and Kayaks where you can Hire Kayaks and canoes and also hire out power boats (tinnies).The Water Taxi can whisk you and your party (and your own canoes) across the Lake in comfort to start your Canoe adventure from Kinaba, or to explore Mt.Seawah and the Coloured Sands. But whatever you do make sure you see the fabulous Cooloola Wetlands. Everything you want is nearby.
