Burpengary
Postcode: 4505
Burpengary is a locality in Caboolture Shire, Australia, situated approximately 32 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD. Burpengary is semi-rural but is increasingly being built up to accommodate young families who work in Brisbane but want to live out of town.
Burpengary has three primary schools: Burpengary State School, St Eugene’s and Burpengary Meadows. It has no high school, but the majority of students who live in Burpengary attend Narangba Valley State High School.
The name Burpengary is derived from the Aboriginal word burpengar, meaning “land of the golden wattle”.
