Robina

Postcode: 4226

Robina is the third largest suburb on the Gold Coast of Australia and is the terminus point for the QR CityTrain Gold Coast Line.

Robina is a popular visitors’ destination because it offers the Robina Town Centre, a popular shopping centre which like other Queensland shopping centres is open air due to the weather. It is also home to Bond University.

Robina will now be the location for a new National Rugby League stadium. The Gold Coast Stadium was able to be built using the multi-million dollar ‘gift’ from the Queensland Government, since the NRL has granted Gold Coast TITANS a licence. The stadium will have a seating capacity suitable for NRL games, and will be rectangular in shape, specifically meeting NRL requirements and those of other sports such as soccer and rugby union.

The stadium will be developed on a huge plain close to the Robina railway station, so fans from Brisbane and the rest of Gold Coast can easily reach the new stadium via public transport. The stadium will also be within walking distance of Robina Town Centre so that sports fans could go shopping before or after attending a sports match. The stadium will be built (2007), the year that Gold Coast is introduced to the NRL competition and will be completed in 2008 and the stadium will have a seating capacity of up to 25,000 people

Robina is also a growing community home to many residents who have moved to the Gold Coast area. Since the mid-1990s Robina has been a growing suburb.
