Carrick is a small town in northern Tasmania about 18 km west of Launceston on the Liffey River, and on the ‘Old Bass Highway’ or Meander Valley Highway. The population of Carrick is 312 (2001 census). Nearby locations include Bishopsbourne, Longford and Hadspen. Carrick has a small general store, and plays host to a number of events including Agfest (an agricultural festival) and the Carrick speedway.
